Strattera is a brand name for a drug that contains atomoxetine. This medication is the first non-stimulant drug approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the  United States. Strattera 10  mg is used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in adults and children over age 6. This drug is a selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI) that impacts mental health conditions i.e. attention, self-control, and the ability to sit constantly.

How To Use Strattera 10  mg?

Read the medication guide provided by your pharmacist before starting to use Strattera 10 mg each time you get a refill. According to a medical condition, response to treatment, and other drugs you may be taking the dose is considered. If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

Take this medication with or without food as directed by your doctor. Usually, 1 to 2 times a day you should take it when you wake up in the morning. If the doctor prescribes a second dose, take it in the late afternoon/early evening. Taking this medication late at night may cause trouble sleeping (insomnia). Swallow the capsules whole. Do not crush, chew, or open the capsules which are not advised by your doctor.

Do not increase your dose or take this drug more often than the doctor’s prescription.

The doctors usually start by prescribing a low dose and gradually increasing it until the correct amount is found for a specific patient. Usually, the patient experiences a few side effects as the body adjusts to the medication.

Side effects of Strattera 10 mg include constipation, dizziness, headache, insomnia, dry mouth, sweating, reduced appetite, and erectile dysfunction.

Rare but serious side effects of Strattera 10 mg include liver toxicity, suicidal thoughts, swelling, and heart problems. If these side effects occur severely, the doctor suggests that the medication should discontinue for a certain time. Its side effects may decrease or go away.

Missed Dose On Strattera 10 mg:

If you forget to take Strattera 10 mg by mistake, take the missed dose as soon as you can. But do not take more than the prescribed amount of Strattera 10 mg 24 hours. You should not take a double dose for your usual dose if you miss taking a dose. So if you miss a dose and it’s almost time to take your next one, just skip the missed dose and go back to your normal schedule for taking Strattera 10 mg.

Overdose On Strattera 10 mg: 

If the patient takes Strattera 10 mg as an overdose accidentally the symptoms may include drowsiness, dizziness, stomach problems, tremors, or unusual behavior. Buy it should remember that always take this medication in time without hesitation. After taking a double dose of this medicine, if someone collapses or isn’t breathing, then call your doctor.

Precautions Are Associated With Strattera 10 mg:

Drugs can be dangerous if you use them carelessly. It improves the patient’s health when it is used as a prescription by the doctor and takes some precautions before using it. Taking them correctly and understanding the right way to administer them can reduce the risks.

You should not take Strattera 10 mg if you have:

• You should not take Strattera 10 mg if you take an antidepressant monoamine oxidase inhibitor or MAOI within 14 days.
• Untreated narrow-angle glaucoma.
• An allergy to Strattera 10 mg or any other ingredients in Strattera 10 mg.
• A rare tumor called pheochromocytoma.
